This week we’re searching for an inexpensive spring for XDM shooters that prefer 
last-round slide lock over the +1 (but no slide lock) capability of the Grams spring/follower kit. Turns out the factory XDM spring resembles the Glock spring — but with some important little quirks. Currently if you want the full +3 you’re stuck with the stock spring and its “iffy” last-round lockback after 50 cycles or so.
Using a 140mm Glock spring gives you +2.5, and locks the slide back positively.
We just posted a quick video to show how to most easily assemble the HKP30 “Border Special” system in our Youtube Video Support area. Includes what parts NOT to use, and a look at a common problem with the spring rotating 90 degrees during assembly.
Our Glock, XDM, and S&W mag extensions are known for staying on the gun, no matter what. That comes at the cost of being a little slow to disassemble.
Michael Chludenski cooked up a mod to our locking plate that makes the extension easier to remove. Last week I threw together a small batch of locking plates with his “cut” applied, and had them black anodized. We’re calling them a “black magic” locking plate, because they’re A: black, and B: spin out of the way like magic, without having to take either screw completely out.
We’d very much like to know what you the customer think of the idea, and what you think an appropriate price would be.
